Air-Type Solar Collector with Transparent Capillary Type Thermal Insulation

Mr. Baatar Takaev currently works as a Research associate at the Moscow Power Engineering Institute (MPEI). In all solar collectors main heat losses take place through a transparent area (external glazing) above the air-type solar collector. Mr. Takaev and his team proposed transparent thermal insulation of a capillary type arranged above the absorber. Transparent thermal insulation has good transmission of visible light (solar radiation) and absorption of infrared radiation (heat radiation). Transparent insulation is widely used on walls of energy-efficient buildings.
