Technology and Equipment for Pilot Production of Quantum Dots Structures by Method of Pulse Cooling of Saturated Solution Melt (PCSSM)Dr. Tamera Kulyutkina and Dr. Ihor Maronchuk are members of the Ukrainian Association of Non-traditional Energy (UANE). The PCSSM technology and equipment they designed can be used for the production of high efficiency solar cells. The proposed process involves three steps. First, the substrate and the solution-melts are heated to a certain temperature. Second, the substrate and the solution melt are brought into contact. Finally, the heat absorber, which is initially at a lower temperature, is placed on the backside of the substrate. And growth of the quantum dots (QD) ensemble or Gallium-Arsenic (GaAs) layer occurs during the time while the heat absorber is heated to the substrate and solution-melt temperature. The PCSSM method yields products which have high surface density of QD ensemble and low defect density compared with conventional methods, and also ecologically friendlier. The equipments are low-cost and maintenance. |
